Truecoco Ghana Secures $3.3M From BII For Carbon Removal Project

Truecoco Ghana will remove more than 250k MTs of CO2 from the atmosphere and improve the livelihoods of 30k smallholder farmers by 2030.

Through the production of virgin biochar, Truecoco will provide an additional revenue stream and reduce the cost of organic inputs for farmers, while removing CO2.

The project aims to be the leading carbon removal technology project in West Africa and will be a global first industrial-scale project to use coconut husks as its primary feedstock. We are aligned with Ghana’s ambitious climate targets and aim to be a key player in driving Ghana to the world stage as a leader in the carbon removal space.
